Chromatic Self: Raw Identity through color and chaos
βIn creating CHROMATIC SELF, I sought to capture the tension between our internal landscape and external presentation. The crown-like sunglasses and tribal-inspired color patterns deliberately reference artistic icons who broke barriers between street and gallery spaces. This work honors the tradition of outsider artists who used primitive motifs and wild color theory to communicate universal truths about human existence and social hierarchies.β
This editorial series combines visceral color application with contemplative portraiture. The primitive yet sophisticated brushstrokes create a visual language that challenges conventional fashion photography. Drawing from the rebellious energy of downtown art movements that elevated graffiti and spontaneous creation to high art, CHROMATIC SELF stands as commentary on authenticity in an increasingly filtered world.
